Take Home Folders

Every Monday graded papers, class dojo reports, school information, and a newsletter will be sent home in your child's folder. The newsletter will highlight the topics taught in each subject, school announcements, important dates, etc.  You may also view the newsletter by clicking the links on the bottom of this webpage.

Students will write homework assignments in their agendas each night.  Please review the homework and sign your student's agenda each night.  I willl also write notes home to you there...feel free to write me a note as well.  Students are expected to read their AR books each night (a minimum of 15-20 minutes), study the "word of the day" (vocabulary), and math practice.

Students will take a divsion wide assessments at the end of each nine weeks.  They will also be given unit tests/quizzes every few weeks for reading, math, science, and social studies.  3rd graders will take SOL tests for Reading and Math in May.  It is important that students work hard all year during class and on homework assignements to prepare for the end of the year tests. With your support at home and encourgament at school I am confident that every student will be successful!

Our behavior system in class is an online program called classdojo.  Each student has a monster with his/her name.  Students may earn points throughout the school day for following directions, completing work, and following school rules.  Students may also loose points for not following rules.  At the end of the week students who have earned the goal number of points will get to choose a prize.  (treasure box, homework pass, eat lunch with a friend, etc.)  Thank you for signing and returning the weekly Class Dojo reports that come home in Monday folders.

Thank you for your support! Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
