ACPS School Board Retreat

A School Board retreat is scheduled for Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 9:00 AM in the board room of the School Administration Office.

Citizens are welcome to attend the work session as observers.

Regional Spelling Bee Representative: Kaleigh Bennett

We are so proud of our Amelon Spelling Bee Champion!

She representated us well at the March 12th News and Advance Regional Spelling Bee.

Our alternate, Grace Bondy, was also present and offered her support!

Kudos to the Amelon Archery Team!

Our team ventured to Meadow Event Park in Doswell, VA, for the State Tourney and did quite well!

The team placed 2nd overall in the Elementary Division with Jesse Smith placed 1st in the elementary boys' division and Tatyana Smith placed 2nd in the girls' division.

We are so very proud of all of them!

Amelon Science Fair 2016

The Science Fair was a great success! 

Kudos to all of the wonderful projects that were created and displayed. 

Our Bulldog scientists were creative and we all learned alot!

The 6 5th grade students will go on to compete in the upcoming Amherst County-Wide Science Fair to be held at Randolph College, March 24th!

Under the coordination of Mrs. Dawson, 3rd Grade Teacher, our school families and staff members contributed an SUV load of items to be sent to the families in Appommattox.

Thank you for your wonderful contributions.  Our items were taken to Golden Corral in Lynchburg (one of the sites listed as an official donation drop-off) and Amherst County High School.

In times like these, the friendly things you do mean so much!  We appreciate you all.

Due to all after school activities being cancelled, our Decoding Club and Science Fair have been cancelled for today.

Due to weather concerns, all afterschool activities for today have been cancelled.
Students will be sent home by their normal transportation arrangements.

Students in the Y program will be here until parents pick them up within the 3:45- 4:45 time slot.

ACPS Will be opening 2 Hours Late TUESDAY, MARCH 1

Acting upon a request by the Registrar of Voters, in response to a higher than usual anticipated turnout for the primary election, limited parking at some schools (voting sites), and safety of children with possibly congested parking areas, Dr. Nichols is directing that all Amherst County Schools will open two (2) hours late on Primary Day, Tuesday, March 1, 2016. action. Currently, six (6) county schools are used as voting locations.
