Mrs. Lea Gray has been an educator for 25 years. She began her career as an elementary teacher at Robert S. Payne Elementary School in Lynchburg,  VA. She then worked as a middle school history and English teacher in both Appomattox and Campbell Counties for 15 years, where she also served as Child Study Co-Chair, Grade Level Chair, and Department Head. Mrs. Gray later served for several years as the Assistant Principal at Sheffield Elementary School, which housed the LCS elementary alternative program, and then served as the Principal at Linkhorne Elementary School. She also served as the Principal at Monelison Middle School in Amherst County for two years.

 

Mrs. Gray earned her Bachelor's of Arts from Liberty University. She also completed her Masters  in Educational Leadership at the University of Lynchburg. Mrs. Gray’s achievements were noted in her turnaround at Linkhorne Elementary School, where they were granted accreditation in year 1 of her service as Principal. Mrs. Gray’s passion is helping all students succeed to their fullest potential. 

 

Mrs. Gray grew up in Clear Spring, Maryland but now resides with her husband, Mark, in Campbell County. Mr. and Mrs. Gray enjoy spending time with their two adult daughters and their families, which include a grandson and granddaughter.
